Stannum iodatum (Sn Iâ‚‚), a deep-acting homoeopathic medicine, is prepared through trituration of the iodide of tin and is primarily indicated in chronic respiratory conditions such as phthisis (tuberculosis) and lingering chest complaints. It combines the properties of both Stannum metallicum and Iodum, and is especially beneficial in cases where there is progressive lung weakness, plastic tissue changes, and persistent coughing with copious expectoration.

Respiratory & Pulmonary Complaints
• Indicated in chronic lung diseases, particularly phthisis, with weakness, oppression, and productive cough.
• Aids in cases with persistent tickling in the throat that triggers a cough—often felt at the root of the tongue or shifting spots in the throat.
• Supports weak, initially dry coughs that evolve into stronger bouts with pale yellow, copious expectoration.
• Helpful in conditions where coughing is followed by chest dryness, increased breathlessness, and a sensation of fatigue or weakness in the chest.
• Particularly suited to cases that “hang fire”—not improving despite treatment—and require a gentle but beneficial action.
General Weakness& Constitutional Suitability
• Especially beneficial for individuals with a fair, clear complexion, long eyelashes, and rapidly progressing respiratory conditions.
• Recommended in smokers with chronic throat-origin coughs, often misattributed to smoking, where deeper lung involvement is suspected.
