Quillaya saponaria, also known as Soap Bark Tree or Chile Soap-bark, is a homoeopathic medicine prepared from the inner bark of the Quillaja tree, native to Chile and belonging to the Rosaceae family. Traditionally used as a natural surfactant due to its high saponin content, Quillaya also has therapeutic value in addressing acute catarrhal conditions, especially in the early stages of colds, sneezing fits, sore throat, and dry respiratory mucosa. It is especially useful in checking the progression of coryza when administered at the onset. Additionally, it aids in respiratory tract cleansing and is supportive in skin conditions like scaling eruptions.
