Manganum oxydatum nigrum, a homoeopathic medicine prepared from Black Oxide of Manganese, is chiefly noted for its action on the respiratory organs, glands, and bones. It is particularly valuable in chronic laryngitis, hoarseness, and tuberculosis tendency, where there is weakness, anaemia, and emaciation. It also has an affinity for the periosteum and joints, producing deep, aching pains, especially worse from cold and damp weather.
