Kino de malabar, a homoeopathic medicine prepared from the dried juice of Pterocarpus marsupium (Indian Kino tree), is chiefly valued for its action on the digestive tract. It is especially noted in conditions of diarrhoea, dysentery, and excessive mucous or bloody discharges. Its characteristic action lies in dysenteric stools with much tenesmus and weakness, and in its ability to check profuse, debilitating evacuations.
