Coccus cacti is a homoeopathic medicine of female insects found on cactus plants of Hemiptera order, primarily known for its spasmodic and violent cough action, particularly whooping cough, as well as its marked affinity for urinary and respiratory mucous membranes. It is especially suited to catarrhal states, urinary tract irritation, kidney pain, and uric acid conditions such as gravel and calculi. The medicine is valuable in cases involving tenacious mucus, suffocative coughing, and anuria with swelling, making it beneficial in both acute and chronic stages of mucosal congestion and urinary dysfunction.
